i have had a truely fantastic weekend in Barcelona!
We arrived mid to late afternoon on the Friday, we made our way to our hotel. The hotel, called the 'Diagonal Hotel' was amazing. It far exceeded our expectations, it was lovely. We all showered and changes and met up in the Hotel Bar/lobby for some drinks.
We got the Tram and headed into the gothic quarter of Barcelona. We wandered around the many little streets and alleyways - it was gorgeous around there. We ate at a small Tapas bar. The people at the Tapas bar thought we were all really funny. I was the only one in the group with any knowledge of Spanish - so all the talking was always left to me!!!
To be contnued ..... Vic/miell/diana x

Well after our lovely tapas meal, some of us where up to going partying (including myself) , but others where not. So with the majority saying 'bedtime' , and seeing as we had got up at 4 am that morning, and that the next day was going to be a hectic day, to bed we all went. After a wonderful breakfast at the hotel, we all went out for the day. Our first stop was the Sagrada Familia. We were all in total awe by the architecture and his inspiration to have such ideas to build such beautiful places. We climbed to the top of the towers - tiring, but so so worth doing. We then got the metro up to Park Guell. Outside escalators? never seen that before! but what an upward climb!!! The park was magical, i wanted to spend all day there. We ate lunch there at the cafe, and soaked up the atmosphere. There was a guy playing the spanish guitar under the wall, where all the coloumns were, and i could have listened to that for hours and hours - the accoustics were breathtaking. We then headed back into the city centre via the bus, to explore some of the shops. After which we made our way back to the Hotel to freshen up before going out in the evening. To be continued .... vic/miell/diana xx

sorry for the long gap before continuing, been busy! Well we all went back into the centre, were we ate at a lovely restaurant that had been recommended to us called 'Citrus' . The food and wine was gorgeous. We all drank rather alot. One of our party of 6 was not feeling too well, so we dropped her off at the hotel, and the rest of us went down to Port Olympic. We found an interesting place were people were dancing on podiums etc, so we stopped by there for the rest of the night. Well we were all alittle rough the next morning, but pleased that we had had the opportunity to party all night. Bags got backed, hotel paid for, and we all headed home The bus to the airport and the flight itself all went very smoothly, and we left spain a warm 22 degrees centigrade, and got back to England at 10 degrees centigrade Well, the next spain trip is Malllorca in August, to visit Corvy's Island. Adios Di/Vic/Miell
