hola amig@s i am currently in Malaga visiting Saladrim. Malaga is a lovely city, my hotel is in the old part of the city and very close to the shops and places of interest to visit. saladrim and i went yesterday to visit Alhambra in Grenada. Wow wow wow. it was splendid - i loved it!! We were absolutely knackered though from all the walking we did!! Today we tried to visit the Malaga alcazaba, but alas it is closed on a Monday!! So we tried to visit the picaso museum - and that too is closed on a monday!! lol. so i asked to see the beach - which was nice, apart from the usual discarded condoms, and the dead rat!!!!! saladrim now has to work, so i will occupy myself for the rest of the week - but there are plenty of shops , and the picaso museum , and the alcazaba , to name a few places for me to visit. well, i will keep you updated on my tour of malaga, adios amig@s diana/vicryl/miell

Today i have been taking it easier. i am very tired from the flight and then all the walking around everywhere.
So after a woke up (with no alarm clock set!). got showered, dressed, talked with vasdef on msn, i wandered along to El Corte Ingles. i walked around the whole shop, but resisted the urge to buy a handbag for 100 euros!!! lol then - i managaed to find my own way back to my hotel without getting lost!! truely amazing!
i ate in the hotel restaurant, but alas the menu was only in spanish, however i amazed myself that i could (mostly) understand the menu. and ordered the meal - and it was lovely. i was alittle upset that conejo was on the menu!!! conejos are not for eating!!!!
I am now full, and sleepy - arhhh, the spanish siesta!!
Tomorrow i will explore more - probably el museo de picasso y el catedral. and hopefully i will not get lost! but thankfully i have learnt my izquierda from my dereche in spanish lessons! so maybe i would be able to ask for direcions!
will write more soon,
adios amig@s

hola amig@s
well another day has passed for me in malaga.
after having breakfast as usual - with the waiters talking to my chest - as usual, i ventured out alone into malaga.
i firstly went to el museo de picasso. here atm are over 200 of his artworks. some of his art leaves me cold, but other pieces inspire me. the one particular painting i liked that i saw today was called 'suzanne and the elders' . in a book i bought i saw another i really liked - called 'the dream'. both pieces i think are increrdibly sensuous. the museum also is home to some archaeological findings in the basement. here you can find walls dating back to the 7th - 6th century BC. a time when the phoenicians founded the city. so i learned all about the various powers of malaga, including the punics, romans, arabs, and then of course the catholics.
i next visited the catedral de malaga. wow - what alot of gold iconography! despite being an athiest i can still appreciate the beauty of the art and architecture of such a place - and it was breath-taking.
i then, most amazingly found my way back to the hotel!
todays menu (also in spanish only), was a little more confusing. but after stuffed peppers (pimientos del piquillo rellenos de carne acompanyados de esparragos trigueros) followed by flamenquines con ensalada y patatas, then natillas, i was full and sleepy.
well i go to sleep now - bcz after all tomorrow is another day!!

;D hola amig@s
yesterday, after breakfast, and the waiters talking to my cleavage again, i walked to the Alcazaba. Passing by many lovely old buildings and the cathedral on my way there. Hooray - Alcazaba de Malaga was open!!
It was a beautiful sunny morning, and i was virtually alone in the alcazaba. The alcazaba differs from the one at alhambra, bcz the one at malaga incoperates the nasrid era palaces inside its walls, whereas alhambra - they are seperate. The malaga alcazaba was beautiful, with gorgeous palm trees and orange (naranja) trees all over the place. In the nasrid palace area there were some fountains and pools, but no where near as spectacular as those in the nasrid palaces at alhambra.
However, i was able to sit in the quiet, all by myself, just listening to the idyllic trickling of the water, with the lovely warm sunshine on my face. I was in heaven. I felt at peace with the world.
Saladrim came and picked me up for lunch and we went to a place in the hills, away from tourism and had a lovely lunch.
The receptionist in the hotel gives me a printout of the menu each day, so i can learn from it - somedays i can understand what food there is to eat, other days it is a complete mystery, lol. But i think my spanish comprehension has improved alittle since being here in malaga. I can now say with ease.. Un cafe solo por favor or... una cerveza por favor, lol infact at breakfast this morning i even asked for .. zumo de naranja --- wow i even amazed myself!!!
Today i am being a little bit lazy atm, but i might go out to explore the old market in a minute.
I will write more later about the rest of my day,
Adios amig@s

hola amig@s
Today has been an eventful but laterly enjoyable day. I woke up, had breakfast, then went out for a walk to the very close by enclosed market - on Atarazanas - the road where my hotel is. The market was so alive with life. It was a fish/meat/bakers/spices market. Well i hadn't been there long when i realised i was being followed. It made my feel uncomfortable. I tried to turn a different way - but this man would follow, quite close behind aswell. He would say in a sinister creepy voice 'bella guapa' so i could hear him. I just ignored him, and left the market. I went into a nerarby shop - and he followed me there, so decided to go back to the hotel. Unfortunately he also followed me there. but he did not enter the hotel at least. I ran up to my room fast. Well anyone who knows me will let you know that apart from spiders i do not get scared. But this really really scared me - i felt threatened and intimidated. Well vasdef and later werner, were able to calm me down; and i stayed in my hotel room until saladrim came to pick me up for lunch.
We went to a mexican restaurant for lunch - yummy yummy. We then headed over to Fuengirola - Saladrims home. I met his mum, brother, sister and dog Yako. All of whom were lovely. I even got to see some baby pics of saladrim - but was forbidden to take a photo!! lol. I saw where our mayor (alcalde) resides as he plays SWG. We then went up to Mijas - a little white housed village in the hills. and from here saw an amazing red sunset, really incredible. We then headed back to Fuengirola, and saw the beach and the castle. Then saladrim took me back to my hotel in Malaga.
Tomorrow i return home, but not untill the evening, so will have time tomorrow to do something first.
Well my last posting will be from when i return back to cold England. I will post some of my many photos in the Website when i return.

Hola amig@s, I spent the morning packing my case , having breakfast, and talking to Vasdef on msn messenger. After a morning of work saladrim picked me up from the hotel. We went to eat tapas for lunch. I amazed myself by eating octopus - but I didn't like to look at it before I put it into my mouth, bcz the sucker things looked horrible. We then went to visit Gibralfaro castle in Malaga. It was very high on the hill - and the views over Malaga were wonderful. Although it was a bit upsetting to see the bullfighting ring, I had innocently thought that bullfighting had stopped. Saladrim then took me to the airport, and we sat and talked together until it was time for me to get on the plane. I tried to go to sleep on the plane, but everytime I dropped off - we hit turbulence. Well when i left Malaga it was a beautiful 19 degrees centigrade. In England it was 1 degrees centigrade. It was like getting a starship to Hoth!! It was then a 2 hours drive home, but i made it in 1 hour 40 minutes!! Empty roads and a knowledge of where the speed cameras are located!!! lol So it was almost 3 am spanish time by the time a arrived home. Vasdef was waiting up for me, and made me a lovely cup of tea. My dog Jake went loopey to see me, bringing me all his toys, and running around the place!! Catie and I have been spending time together today, which has been lovely. I would just like to say many many thanks (mucho mucho gracias) to Saladrim for showing me his area of Spain. I have had a really lovely time. Adios Amig@s Diana/Vicryl/Miell xxxx
